When in a country that understands the same language that you speak, language becomes invisible. Me and Garima Thakur (my classmate) figured out that people around us do not understand what we speak, as the country we’re currently in does not understand our native language. Similarly even we fail to understand certain foreign languages spoken by people, apart from English.
This new experience with languages led to the creation of the project ‘Entangled Conversations’.
We used ethnography as our research tool to interpret different languages around us through observations and interviews.
